 Program Overview   study in america

The College of Engineering at Prairie View A&M University offers a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering through the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering is one of six departments, (including chemical engineering, civil and environmental engineering, computer science, engineering technology and mechanical engineering) which make up the College of Engineering. The Bachelor of Science Program in Electrical Engineering, as well as Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, and Mechanical Engineering are ABET accredited.
The Electrical Engineering graduate programs are designed to provide advanced knowledge of engineering and focused research training, particularly in regard to technology systems design. Students who study for these programs conduct research in the Advanced Solid State, Power, Logic and Digital Design, Electronic, Analog and Mixed Signal Testing, Broadband Communication, Digital Signal Processing and General Communication laboratories. Additional research labs exist in the Center for Applied Radiation Research. Students also have the opportunity to take on research assistantships at these facilities.
Prairie View is home to two national electrical engineering professional and honor society student chapters: the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and Eta Kappa Nu Electrical Engineering Honor Society.
